THOMAS L. BALL DIES AT AGE OF 79 YEARS
Long Associated With Bryan Grocery and John H. Magruder Co.
Thomas Latham Ball, well known in this city where he was associated with the Bryan Grocery Co., and later with the John H. Magruder Co., died yesterday at his residence, 1814 Thirty seventh street.
He was born in Flint Hill, Va., September 26, 1854. Upon his father's death, he moved with his mother and sisters to Warrenton, Va. He came to this city when 18 and became associated with the Bryan firm at that time. Later he became vice president of the company. He was retired a few years ago.
Mr. Ball was a descendant of Col. William Ball of Millenbock Plantation, who was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses. Col. Ball was a direct ancestor of George Washington. He also was a descendent[sic] of Sir Charles Latham, falconer to King Charles I of England, who was the progenitor of the Virginia family bearing his name.
Surviving are two daughter, Alice Morton Ball and Rose Mary Ball, and a son, Eugene Maurice Ball of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow and burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery

Funeral services at his late residence, 1814 Thirty-seventh street northwest, Friday, December 8, at 2:30 p. m.
Interment at Rock Creek Cemetery.
