Composer, Orchestra Conductor. Born in Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental in the Philippines. She was a composer of orchestral works, operettas, masses, and hymns. Rosalina was a nun of the Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary. Her aunt, the late Sister Maria Rosario Madroñal, RVM was her first music teacher. She finished her associate in music at St. Scholastica's College, Major in Piano and attended her Masters in Music Composition at the Philippine Women's University in 1957. She studied abroad, earning degrees from Labunski School of Composition in Ohio, the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, and the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. Rosalina taught composition and music theory at Kansas University and St. Pius Seminary in Kentucky. Sister Rosalina has received a number of honours, including the Republic Culture Heritage Award in 1967 and the Philippines' Independence Day Award in 1973. She was also elected as President of the Philippine Foundation of Performing Arts in America in 1980. Some of her greatest works were "Aeolian Piano Concerto" in 1949, the cantata "The Conversion of King Humabon" in 1967, the oratorio "Pagtubos" (Redemption) in 1969 and many others including chamber music pieces. Her awards also included Mother Battig Centennial Recognition, 1970 and Tandang Sora Award, 1975. She died at the age of 68 in Fresno, California.
