John was the son of John and Stella (Kruzinski) Choma. John was an avid duck hunter who hunted with his sons in the famed Thousand Acre Marsh and in the muddy ditches and oyster laden bottoms of Kelly's Island. He enjoyed crabbing and Rock fishing on the Choptank River. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law. He was appointed to the Wilmington Police Department on March 1, 1956, and was one of the first motorcycle sergeants of the W.P.D.
