He was retired from the Delaware State Police, he was Staff Captain in 1967, Pre-sentence investigator in Superior Court, then he was a Court Bailiff in Kent & Sussex County for 17 years.

He was a lifetime Member and past president of the Ellendale Vol. Fire Company.

His hobbies included harness racing and quail hunting.
