Bill had been a firefighter for 22 years, retiring in 1981 from the City of Wilmington. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and loved football, especially the U of D Blue Hens and Philadelphia Eagles. He had also worked as as courier for LabCorp.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beatrice M. Peden Grodzicki; a daughter, Theresa "Terri" M. Grodzicki; two sisters, Florence G. Doherty of Wilmington and Frances G. Hamill of Rehoboth Beach; nieces and nephews; and his walking companion, Trae.
