John Bullock
Funeral services for John Bullock, 85 years old, Civil War veteran, who died from heart trouble Friday, while being taken to the hospital in the police ambulance, will be held from his late home, at 6 West Twenty-second street, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. W. E. Greenfield, pastor of Brandywine M. E. Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Bullock was stricken while seated on the porch of his home Friday afternoon.
Mr. Bullock's death recalls the forming of the Old Soldiers' Park Association, which established the Old Soldiers' Park, at Fifteenth and Market streets. His death marked the fifth of the original six members.
Mr. Bullock was a member of Phil Sheridan Post, G. A. R., and served during the Civil War in Company D, of the Fourth Delaware Regiment. He was born in Brandywine Village and lived in this vicinity practically all his life. He was one of the oldest members of the Brandywine M. E. Church. He was also a member of the Old Delaware Fire Company.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. S. K. Vansant, of Steelton, Pa.; two sons, William S. and John Emory Bullock, of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Meredith, of Bivalve, N. J.; Mrs. Elizabeth McCracken, of this city, and Mrs. Marjorie Cassidy, of Philadelphia; two brothers, Sharpley Bullock, of this city, and Jacob Bullock, of Philadelphia, and four grandchildren.
