Denton is survived by his wife, Mary Melda Adams; three daughters, Mary Imogen, Naomi Ellen, and Lois Marlene; five sons, Ivan Denton, Freddie Sievers, Hollis Odell, Omer Jesse, and John.
He is preceded in death by an Infant daughter, and an infant son, Rufus Denton Randall.
