Melvin Horton age 81, of Centreville entered into rest on Friday, August 17, 2012 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 10:00 AM at River of Life Church of God . . . Visitation was held on Monday, August 20, 2012, from 5 to 8 PM at the church with Rockco Funeral Home Centreville directing. Burial was in Pineland Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was a retired veteran, serving in the Navy Air Force and Alabama National Guard. He was a member of Tannehill Wood Carvers, Member of New Life Baptist Church and was a great encourager. . . He is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Horton and two grandchildren, Brooklyn Abigale Stahl and Jordan River Stahl.
