Noah C. Horton was the son of Nimrod H. Horton and his wife Margaret Wilson.
Noah married Emily Francis Jones on Aug. 14, 1859, in Bibb County, Alabama. They had one child, Nimrod R. Horton.
Noah was captured at the Battle of Ft. Morgan and transferred to Fort Columbus, New York Harbor on 9/28/1864, where he died after contacting smallpox.
His brother James Henry Horton was also captured at Ft. Morgan and transferred to Elmira, NY. James survived the smallpox and returned to Alabama.
