John Chipley was born John Chipman in 1799 in Maine. The location of his actual burial place is unknown, but he most probably was buried in a lost family burial place along the Attala County and Leake County line in Mississippi. He is a direct descendant of six people who came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. His footstone memorial is in Singleton Methodist Church Cemetery, Singleton, MS. We do not know where he was actually buried.
