Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Ameralee Rains, 89, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, with evangelist Wayne Fussell of the Midway Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Rains died late Thursday, Dec. 28, in the Willis-Knighton Hospital, following a sudden illness. A former resident of Many, Mrs. Rains had lived in Shreveport for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Midway Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Thomas "Hoot" Rains, and Amos P. Rains, both of Shreveport; three daughters, Lillian Cooper, Irene Fletcher, and Stella Farrar, all of Shreveport; 25 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Rains, Harold Cooper, James Fletcher, Donald Farrar, Truman Rains, Michael Rains, Rodney Walton, and Billy Waldon. (SOURCE: The Sabine Index, January 4, 1973)
