Mrs. Joyce Payton Andrews, age 81, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home in Newnan, GA, surrounded by her beloved family. Mrs. Andrews was born in Coweta County on May 1, 1929, and was one of 8 children born to the late William Harvey and Annie Belle Samples Payton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Leland Andrews and by brothers, Floyd Payton, Jimmy Payton, and sisters, Christine Payton Scott, Ludene Payton Adkins, and Thelma Payton Winkles.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA, with Dr. Jimmy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, September 17, 2010, between the hours of 6 & 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Andrews was a member of First Baptist Church, Newnan for 49 years. She loved her church; and, as is fitting, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, 15 W. Washington Street, Newnan, GA.
She is survived by one sister, Molly Ann Payton Strickland; daughters, Denise Wilkin and Melissa Scott; sons-in-law, Dale Wilkin and Christopher Scott; grandchildren, Kristen Luellen-Kee, Kenneth Luellen, Andrew Wilkin, Kathryn Scott, Davy Scott and Payton Scott; great grandchildren, Chase Luellen and McKenna Grace Kee.
