He named his next of kin as Mrs. L. Ashe, Killarney, Manitoba. [She is presumed to be his wife].
He stated that he had previous military experience, having served in The 8th Royal Irish Hussars.
He was 26 years and 9 months old, 5ft 7in high, blue eyes, and dark hair streaked with grey.


Although he enlisted as Desmond Robert Ashe, his birth was registered in Limerick as,
