Blanche had been told that having a child would probably kill her. However, she wanted a child so badly that she decided to chance it. She lost the bet. As she was being wheeled from the delivery room to the operating room, she told her brother, Charles William Lynn, to tell their mother that she didn't have a card for her for Mother's Day, but she would give her her baby. Blanche's parents raised her son.

Mrs. Blanche Knoop, 25, wife of Donald Knoop of Newfane died yesterday in Lockport City hospital. She was well known here. Mrs. Knoop was born in Newfane and educated in Newfane high school. Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs, William Lynn of Newfane, a sister and two brothers.
