Cabel Charles Ayers, 74, of Rich Creek, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19th, 2005 at 1:50 p.m. in the Princeton Community Hospital. He was born September 11, 1930, in Oakvale, W.Va. and was the son of the late Fred Ayers and Susie Shumate Ayers Brown. He was a native of the Oakvale/ Princeton area, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rich Creek, Va., was a member of the Rich Creek Lions Club, and was retired from Pepsi Cola, in Princeton after 18 years of service as a supervisor. Mr. Ayers was a devoted husband of 55 years, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Alliefair Hill Ayers; daughter, Melissa Ayers Cook and husband, Scott of Christiansburg, Va.; son, Donald Ayers and wife, Deborah of Princeton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Bailey and husband, Herchel of Pearisburg, Va., and Lois Bailey and husband, A.H. of Rich Creek, Va.; brother, Dr. Carlos Ayers and wife, Mary Jo of Charlottesville, Va. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Rich Creek, Va., with Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. Pallbearers will be Timmy Skeens, David Skeens, Jerry Bailey, Eddie Comer, Tommy Boggess, Billy Poe, Joshua Gibson and Haven Cook. Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2005 at the BroylesShrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, W.Va. and at the church one hour prior to services.
