Jean Lehman, 82, of Van Wert, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born April 22, 1925, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Orval and Nora (Kiehl) North. On February 2, 1944, she married John Booher, who died June 2, 1969. She then married Karl Lehman on January 1, 1970, and he died November 18, 1997.
Mrs. Lehman retired in 1986 after 21 years at Kennedy Manufacturing Company in Van Wert. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 in Van Wert and the Kennedy Manufacturing Retirees Club. She was also an avid Van Wert City Council attendee.
Survivors include three children, Carl (Lynn) Booher of Deming, N.M., and Mona (Adrian) Allenbaugh and Rae (Alan) Bigham, both of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Bill (Sharon) Booher of Nevada, Ohio, and Jim (Phyllis) Adams and Jacqueline (Larry) Klinger of Van Wert; a sister, Delores Miller of Albion, Ind.; five grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 31 stepgreat-grandchildren.
A grandchild preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 9, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is set for 2-8 p.m. Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert County Council on Aging.
