Van Buren - Funeral services for Charles Edward Colyotte, 73-year-old retired farmer who died April 11 in the Poplar Bluff [Mo] Hospital, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Noel Boyer officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Pewitt's Funeral Home.
Born in Lesterville, Sept 17, 1885, he had spent his childhood in Reynolds County and was a former resident of Searcy, Ark. He was married to the former Miss Della Clarinda Hampton at Annapolis and was a deacon in the Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist church.
In addition to his widow he leaves eight children, Mrs. Virgie Boyer, Bonnie, Ill.; Mrs. Lucy Vaughn, Granite City, Ill.; Charles Colyotte, Collinsville, Ill.; Lowell Colyotte, Hunter; Leonard Colyotte, St. Louis; Mrs. Violet Keele and Mrs. Louis Keele, both of Poplar Bluff; 32 grandchildren, three step-[grand]children, and ____ great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter and Emery Colyotte, two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Sutton and Mrs. Lilly Buxton."
