John is my 3 great grandfather by his second wife Mary "Polly" O'Banion. He is the son of James Cloyd and Rachel Telford Cloyd.

John was the founder of Cloyd's Landing. He was a successful farmer, the leading merchant and extensive tobacco dealer.
