Frederick A. Hosle, 82, of Dallas, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late George and Marie Hosle.

Fred proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant. He served in both World War II and the Korean War.

He was a co-owner of J&H Food Brokers, Kingston. Fred was a former resident of New York City and has resided in Dallas since 1963.

He was a loving husband, father and Pop-Pop. Fred loved his family, travel, and he especially enjoyed cruises. Fred was an avid Yankees and Penn State fan.

During his retirement, he enjoyed his association with his son's business, Hoss Garden Hut, Dallas. Fred was a member of Gate of Heaven Church and its Holy Name Society.

Preceding him in death was a brother, George Hosle Jr.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Julia Kondracky; sons, Ronald, Chester Springs, Pa., and Jeffrey, Harveys Lake; a daughter, Wendy Komski, Chesterfield, Va.; grandchildren, Alison Hosle, Abbey Hosle and Alexa Komski; sister, Marie Breck, East Brunswick, N.J.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Interment will be made at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
