He re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer January 1, 1864, at Brandy Station, Virginia, promoted to corporal, date unknown, and honorably discharged with his company June 27, 1865.
He married Mary Ann Hoover and fathered Sarah C. (b. @1867), Lydia (b. @1873), and William H. (b. 12/15/74). In 1870, he was living with his family in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, and working for the railroad. No obituary was found in online newspaper archives.
