~~Our wonderful and precious mother, Ellen "Nadine" Edgar, 89, peacefully left this earth for her heavenly place with her loved ones, Sat., Sept. 15, 2007 at her home in Richmond, surrounded by love.

Mrs. Edgar was born April 11, 1918 in Ray County, in the Rockingham community, to Mory Columbus and Sarah Ella (Bayer) Halterman. She met and married Frank Mac Edgar of Lakeview community on Jan. 23, 1937 and out of this union, seven children were born. Frank Mac Edgar died Jan. 23, 1989, on their 52 wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Edgar was a telephone operator for the Russellville community in her early years and was an avid flower lover and worked for a short time at Cox's Greenhouse. She lived most of her life in the Richmond community and was very pround of her sons, triplet daughters and all her loving family.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank "Stanley" Edgar and his wife, Norma (Vandiver) Edgar and Marvin Eugene Edgar and his wife, Susan (Elkins) Edgar, all of Richmond; three triplet daughters and two sons-in-law, Diana Lynn Leach and her husband, Donald Leach of Richmond, Donna Kay Schwarz of Excelsior Springs, and Donnetta Dean Davis and her husband, Daniel Davis, of Richmond; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Frank, her parents, two sons, Russell Wayne Edgar on Nov. 30, 1974, and Warren "Jay" Edgar on Oct. 1, 2001; three grandsons Richard Dale Edgar, Stephen Ray Leach and Kenneth Wayne Leach; one son-in-law, Frank A. Schwarz, Jr.; a stepgrandson, Eric McAfee, five brothers, Raymond Lawrence Halterman, Regis "Ted" Kendall Halterman, Estel Jay Halterman, Robert Wayne Halterman and F. Eugene "Gene" Halterman; five sisters, Anna Lavina Clemens, Iris Elizabeth Mansur, Cora "Alice" Pence, Gladys Leora Ford and Helen Frances Early, preceded her in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the BDSRA "Batten" Disease Research or the Ray County Memorial Hospital Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond.

Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home.~~
