He was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Stafford County, the son of Arthur and J. Blanche Wyne Allen. A longtime Stafford resident, he was a wheat farmer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He served in the first division and received the Purple Heart from the Battle of the Bulge.
On Sept. 21, 1937, he married Muriel Brenn in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gerald, Overbrook; a daughter, Patricia Houston of Pratt County; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon; and a sister, Helen Beitler.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stafford Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
