She entered nurses' training at Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, California and was a member of its first graduating class in 1895 at which time she received her certification as a Registered Nurse. She remained there as a trained nurse unil 1899. She was married to Charles A. Cave in Larned, KS on 5 July 1899, he having been born on 25 August 1854. They lived in Chanute, KS for a number of years until they moved to Santa Barbara, CA where Charles died in 1947 and she died April 18, 1950, both being cremated.
