SFC (Ret.) James R. Crunk, 56, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Reverend Eke Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Crunk was born February 6, 1954 in Greenport, NY; son of the late James C. and Mary Novit Crunk. After serving 20 years, he retired from the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class. He was the owner and operator of Jim's Appliance Company and then later worked at Pinnacle Homes Maintenance at Ft. Benning. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and he also loved to scuba dive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Hawurs. Survivors include his wife, Serena Crunk of Columbus, GA; son, James H. Crunk (Tina) of Smiths, AL; and two grandchildren, Jazmin L. Crunk and Summer L. Crunk of Smiths, AL. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com
