Franziskus Birk was born on August 20, 1837. Franziskus Birk served in the military on June 13, 1861, in Ohio. Promoted to Full Sergeant on 16 Oct 1861. Enlisted in Company G, Ohio 28th Infantry Regiment on 06 Jul 1861. Promoted to Full Captain. Promoted to Full 1st Sergeant on 04 Oct 1862. Promoted to Full 2nd Lieutenant on 22 Apr 1864. Mustered out on 06 Jul 1865. In 1870 he lived in Corinne, Box Elder, Utah Territory and is listed with wife Sarah Hardy as a Clerk in Freight House. In 1880 he was a Saloon Keeper in American Fork, Utah, Utah, USA, with wife Sarah , Sons Louis and Centennial and daughter June. He had four sons and two daughters with Sarah Hardy between 1872 and 1886. He died on October 28, 1886, in American Fork, Utah, at the age of 49, and was buried there.
