James D. Alford, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Jan. 21, 2009.

James was born in Ennis on April 17, 1932 to parents George and Teedy Haught Alford. He was reared in Ennis and attended Ennis Schools. He also lived in Dallas and Fort Worth. He was a truck driver for Cargill for 35 years.

His main goal in life was to bring glory to the Lord, and help people along the way. He was a very faithful servant of God.

He is survived by his son, Royce Alford and wife Becky of Richardson. One brother, George Alford of Pleasant Grove. Two sisters, Estelle Boling of Lake Worth and Billie Tubbs of Wortham, Texas. Six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Alford, and his parents.

Services were held on Saturday in Keever Chapel at 11 am. Interment was in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
