It is well with my soul. On Monday April 4, 2011, Grandma left our arms and went straight into the arms of Jesus. She was greeted at the Heavenly gates by her Mother, Daddy and brother Joe, singing ‘Victory In Jesus'.

What a glorious day she finally received! Grandma was a true example of rejoicing in each day, regardless of the illness and pain that day might bring. With a smile on her face, her comment was always…This Too Shall Pass.

She will forever be in the hearts of Gene, Darrell, Deena, Jayne and Shane, always remembering her blessing of ‘May the Lord Bless You and Keep You.' She taught her grandchildren, Emily, John, Abbye, William and Cody, that there was no other way to be happy, but to Trust and Obey in Jesus. She loved rocking and singing to her great grandchildren, Alyson, Elijah, Noah, Isabel, Jacob and Olivia, Jesus Loves You! Her brothers Jerry and Robert, along with her sisters-in-law Marietta, Gayle, and Joy will always know their sister loved her family – God is so good.

We hope you find peace, as we have, knowing that in Heaven, she has a special rocking chair and she is holding babies, praising and teaching what she wanted everyone to have…the love of God. Save a place for us next to you Grandma!

What a woman with a HEART FOR GOD. She was a true encourager of others and a lady that had the ultimate faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ. Her life stood as a beacon of her faith, to the values that she cherished and the multitude of lives that she touched.

Irma Ruth Howington Adams was born February 28, 1932 to Bob and Arlene Howington in Fort Worth, Texas, where she spent her childhood and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1950. She attended Hardin Simmons University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1954. It was in Abilene that she met and married the love of her life of 59 years, Gene.

Services will be conducted by Seymour Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday April 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, at the funeral home. Her celebration of life will be held Thursday April 7, 2011at 10 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Seymour Texas, with burial following in the Masonic Cemetery.
