Robert "Bob" Gidley passed away August 7, 2016 at the Idaho Veterans Home surrounded by
his children and many caring and loving friends.
Bob was born June 25, 1929 in Ustick, Idaho to Wilford and Ada Gidley, spending most his
childhood in Caldwell. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1947. He was proud of his
service in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
Bob started his career with Mountain Bell, traveling around the West as a lineman and
eventually moving back to Caldwell, then transferred to Boise and worked as an Estimating
Engineer, retiring in 1982.
Bob married the love of his life Clarice Caldwell on St. Patrick's Day 1962, together they raised
their four children.
Bob's first and foremost passion was his family. He was an avid golfer, the Gidley family was
one of the first members of Terrace Lakes Resort in 1966. Bob spent every minute he could
spare in helping build the front nine of the golf course. Bob and Clarice retired and moved to
Terrace Lakes, enjoying their many friends and having their children and grandchildren come
and stay as often as they could.
Bob was also known as "Tailgate Bob", he loved his BSU Broncos, he was a season ticket holder,
traveling to out of town games or watching their games on TV with his family.
He is survived by his son Randy (BonieL his daughters Connie, Pilar {BurtL and Shannon. Nine
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clarice, parents, Roy and Ada, four brothers and two
sisters.
A family celebration of life is planned for a later date.
The Gidley family would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Idaho Veterans Home for
their excellent care and loving hearts.
Bob's Irish eyes are smiling as he has been reunited with the love of his life.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
