Retired manufacturing engineer Joseph R. Gaietto, 77, of Paris died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Henry County Medical Center.

His wife, Darlene Hammer Gaietto, survives. They were married on Feb. 4, 1956.

His funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Edward Fisher will officiate.

A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Cemetery in Tiffin, Ohio.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Born July 6, 1932, in Tiffin, he was a son of Louis and Mary Roos Gaietto, now both deceased.

Gaietto retired as a manufacturing engineer for General Electric and Tecumseh Products. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and active in Henry County Right to Life.

Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters: Joyce (Robert) Boney of Albuquerque, N.M., Rosemary (Donald) Miller of Waddy, Ky., Marcia (John) Underbakke of Stafford, Va., Patricia Gaietto of Jackson and DeJane (Keith) Shellhart of Murfreesboro;

Six sons: Jerome (Lisa) Gaietto of Hudson, Ohio, Phillip (Paola) Gaietto of Detroit, Arthur Gaietto of Tiffin, Kevin (Marlena) Gaietto of Decatur, Ala., Mitchell (Alice) Gaietto of Silkeborg, Denmark, and Edward (Gisa) Gaietto of Stuttgart, Germany;

Three brothers: Thomas Gaietto of Bowling Green, Ky., Louis Gaietto of Tiffin, Lawrance Gaietto of Lima, Ohio; two sisters: Margaret Schleter of Tiffin and Mary Angela Gaietto, who is a nun that lives in Toledo, Ohio; and 24 grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to Tomorrow's Hope Pregnancy Help Center, 211 N. Brewer St., Paris.
