Jonathan Abercrombie Sr. and his wife Mary Polly Woods owned the land this Cemetery is located on. I found this Cemetery listed in a book "Laurens County Cemeteries" in the Laurens County Library. The book was written by James and Margaret Bolt in 1945. The names of those buried in these cemeteries was added by Mrs June Tucker. She was a prominent Laurens Historical Society member and Genealogist long before most of us had such thoughts. She list the location and names of those buried there. The Johnson Children buried inside the wall are those of their daughter Clarinda. At the time of the writing, she also states there are seven graves outside the wall that are marked with large stones. It is unknown who may be buried in those graves but is believed to be Jonathan and Marys children and their spouses. This Cemetery is located on private property in Gray Court South Carolina.


The Abercrombies repeatedly used the same given names throughout the family. Birth dates on many of them are also very close, Laurens County Library has Books and Historical Society Research that can help you sort through this. Please don't just chose someone because they have the same name.
