Vern was the third child of William Thomas and Grace Mae (Castle) Colvin. He married Mabel Edith Zumwalt in 1922 and they had one daughter: Barbara Marie.

Funeral for Vern Morris Colvin will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Donelson, Sewell, Mathews Mortuary. He died Nov. 4, in a Forest Grove care center age 82.

Mr. Colvin was born in Cambridge, Idaho, He and his family moved from Idaho to California by covered wagon. He had lived in Cornelius and Hillsboro for more than 22 years.

Mr. Colvin worked most of his life as a diary farmer and trick driver. For 10 years he also drove a moving van for the Oregon Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an active member of the Hillsboro Seventh-day Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel E.; daughter, Barbara Helm, of Gaston; sisters, Birdie Weimer of College Place, Wash., Myrtle Sparhawk of Gresham and Evelyn White of College Place, brothers, Marvin of Carnation, Wash., Harold of Texas, and Bill of Watsonville, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
