She married Richard E. Carter 15 Mar 1905 in Dickens, Iowa.
Richard and Rose had Leonard J., Elsie, Elmer, and Harold Carter.

Mrs. Rose E. Carter, 65, died at her home at Dickens on Monday of this week and funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at Dickens this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The deceased was born in Audubon county November 30, 1883.

Funeral services for Mrs. Richard E. Carter who died January 10 were held Thursday in the Methodist Church in Dickens with the Rev. Hutchings of Terril officiating.
Burial was in North Lawn Memorial cemetery in Spencer.
Pallbearers were Fred Jones, Albert Arney, and Bernard Wischmeyer of Dickens, Ed Wishman of Ruthven, John Rusk of Spencer and Claude Wilson of Sioux Rapids.
Rose Ella Johnson daughter of Peter A. and Effie A. Johnson was born November 30, 1863 at Dedham in Audubon County. At the time of her death she was 63 years, one month and ten days of age
When a young woman she moved with her parents to a farm near Ruthven
On March 15, 1905, she was married to Richard E. Carter of Dickens.
That same spring they moved to Mohall, North Dakota, where they lived for three years after which they moved to homestead near Alexander, North Dakota. In 1923 they returned to Iowa and located on a farm near Dickens. They lived in the Dickens community until Mr. Carter's death in May, 1944. Since then she has made her home with her son, Leonard Carter at Toledo.
In failing health for the past two years, she came to the home of her son, Elmer at Thanksgiving time. Later she became seriously ill and her death occurred at the Spencer hospital
Mrs. Carter is survived by four of her six children. They are Elmer R. of near Terril, Elsie Oliver of Phoenix, Arizona, Harold A. of Dickens and Leonard of Toledo.
There are also eight grandchildren, one brother and five sisters. The brother is Thomas B. Johnson of near Dickens. The sisters are Mrs. Myrtle Jones and Mrs. Maude Moreland of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Mayme McCall of Des Moines, Mrs. Lela L. Smith of Hemingford, Nebraska and Mrs. Lena Malthy of Popejoy
