OAKLAND SUICIDE IS LAID TO ILLNESS
Despondency over a (?) ailment was given (?) as the reason for the suicide Friday of Dr. Edward E. Keeler, 60, an osteopath with offices at (?) Broadway.
Dr. Keeler (illegible) the bullet into his brain from a small-caliber rifle.
Mrs. E. A. Bruner, of 1254 (?) Road, found the body. She reported it to police, she said, after she noticed the doctor sitting in the same position he had been at 10 a.m.
He left no note, but his widow, Mrs. Nellie Keeler, told police her husband had been despondent.
Born in Leon, Iowa, in 1876, Dr. Keeler attended medical college there before moving to California. He was a member of Aahmes Temple of the Shrine, members of which are arranging his funeral today.
Besides his widow, Dr. Keeler is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Deannis, of Oakland.

Dr. Ned Keeler, brother of Mrs. Ed Albaugh of near Leon, passed away in Oakland, Calif. on September 17, 1937. Dr. Keeler had practiced osteopathy in Oakland for twenty (sic) years. He is also a brother of B. W. Keeler of near Weldon.
