Aubrey Wyatt Bailey was the son of Lindell and Thelma (McAlyster) Bailey of Boyce, Texas.

Aubrey was married to Annette Laurette Bailey.

Aubrey was assigned to the USS Liscome Bay when it was torpedoed by Japanese submarines and sunk off the Gilbert Islands in the Pacific on November 24, 1943. He was listed as Missing In Action. When it was determined that he was not among the survivors or the deceased pulled from the water, he was declared Missing At Sea, Body Not Recovered in December, 1943.

Aubrey was half-brother to:

1. Joyce Bailey Trujillo
2. Janis Bailey
