My beloved maternal grandmother:

I remember my granny in our big red rocking chair sitting by our heating stove and the room lit by a kerosene lamp. We would all pile up around her and she told ghost stories for hours. Bad dreams, and plenty of them. That was when I was 4-8 years old. After we got electricity the stories tapered off. I think granny thought they appealed more with kerosene lamps. After that she didn't spend as much time with us as our grandfather did.
Granny's deceased young children:

She was a wonderful granny and is deeply missed. Unfortunately she had to go to a nursing home when older and died there.
