While the 1850 and 1860 census both show an Abraham Lehn of about the same age living in Manheim, Lancaster County, it is not certain this is he as the implied parents are not the same.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Annville, Lebanon County, July 2, 1863, mustered into state service July 3 as a private with Co. F, 48th Pennsylvania Militia, and honorably discharged with his company August 26, 1863.
He married Anna Burkholder and fathered Mary (b. 06/21/68 - married Augustus H. Gerdes). He lived at least part of his post-war life in Steelton, Dauphin County, but died at his home near Oberlin. According to his obituary in the Harrisburg Telegraph, he was fifty-four years of age.
