D, 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry (92nd Pa), and honorably discharged with his company July 18, 1865. He is in the Pennsylvania Archives' ARIAS file as "Cook" but correctly spelled in the company register..
He married Emma K. Snyder and fathered William (b. @1874), Arthur Washington (b. 02/22/76), and Margaret (b. @1878). He was found dead in the furnace room at his job with the state printing office, apparently having suffered a fatal heart attack while shoveling coal into the furnace.
