He was in Comanche Indian War in Texas - he grounded Fort Concho, Texas on December 4, 1867. The fort got name Camp Hatch for John Porter Hatch in January 1868 and name Camp Kelly for Michael Kelly on February 5, 1868. The fort was ended on June 20, 1889.
