Elaine was born September 8, 1929 in Lincoln, Nebraska to parents Martin C. and Anna Katherine Scheele, both deceased.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Elmer Scheele, and her sister Lillian Scheele Eshelman.

She was baptized in Sept. 1929, and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, Arkansas.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Charles Jones, with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage in June 2009. She is also survived by her five sons, her five "daughters-in-Iove," her twelve adoring grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. The families are Ken and Lucy (Taylor, Rachel and Morgan) of Las Vegas, Nevada; David and Tonia (Dylan, his wife Laura and their daughter Lily; and Tyler) of Little Rock; Doug and Melissa (Samantha and Andy) of Fayetteville; Roger and Robyn (Whitney, her fiance Brian Francis, and Jordan and husband Dominelle) of Maumelle; and Scott and Shannon (Cooper and Lucy) of Fayetteville. Both Elaine and Charles were members of the SHS class of 1946. She graduated from St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas in 1948, and started the Salem Lutheran Kindergarten in Springdale in 1949. After raising her boys, Elaine graduated from Texas A & M Commerce, in 1975 with a B.A. degree. She then taught kindergarten and first grade at Greenville Christian School in Texas for 13 years. In all, Elaine was an educator in Christian schools for 20 years.
