Anne was the wife of Philip King and the daughter of William Brooke and Rachel Kendall. Anne came from Limerick, Montgomery Co. to Bedford (now Somerset) County, Pennsylvania with her brother William Brooke (b. 1759) and her sister Mary Ann who married David Jones. Her two brothers, John and Matthew remained living in Limerick, but acquired large tracts of land there in the 1780s and 1790s, probably for speculation. Their properties were near those of Philip King in Middle Creek and Turkeyfoot Townships.
