Emilio was the son of Isamel Llamas and Irene Gonzales.

"EMILIO 'DOC' LLAMAS
Emilio 'Doc' Llamas passed away in Reno on Jan. 25. Born in Westwood June 23, 1941, he attended Westwood and Susanville schools, graduating from Lassen High School in 1959. He attended Lassen College and Idaho State University. He joined the US Army in 1963.

Doc lived in South Lake Tahoe for 35 years, moving to Milford in 2007. He worked in the restaurant and entertainment business, eventually purchasing Steamers Bar and Grill. Doc hosted the Mama Llamas Salsa golf tournament for 25 years, a gathering of family and friends who enjoyed golf and a good time. He established Mama Llamas Salsa seasoning in 1982, sharing and producing the family recipe.

Surviving are brothers Raul (Judy) of Mt. Dora, Florida; Joe (Cheryl) of The Woodlands, Texas; and sister Irene Doyle (Ken) of Milford. Nieces and nephews: Kendra Doyle, Katherine Finley (David), Debbie Loeblein, Dan Johnson (Stephanie), Mike Johnson (Renae), Darrell Llamas and Rich Llamas (Yuli).

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Guest Home, Taylor Street, Reno, NV; LUHSD Alumni Association, Susanville, CA; Bedford Stem Cell Research Foundation or a charity of your choice."
