Cecil H. Drake, 84, of Monroe died April 24, 2005, at Monroe. He was born April 4. 1921, at Springdale, the son of Albert Young and Julia LaShell Drake.

He was the former owner and operator of Monroe Plating Co. and had worked for many years as a funeral director and embalmer in Arkansas. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Jean Jackson Drake.

Survivors include one son, Danny Gene Drake and wife Dana Nolan of Monroe; one brother, Gail Drake of Lowell; two sisters, Maurine Drake of Tulsa, Okla., and Twila Burson of Inola, Okla.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Aurora Cemetery with Pat Manon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, Huntsville.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
