LaCoss, Mr. Theodore R., Jr., of Paw Paw, MI, died Wednesday morning May 27, 2009.

Theodore was born February 4, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Theodore R. and Daisy (Root) LaCoss, Sr.

During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army.

He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Doubleday Company for 24 years before retiring. Theodore was also a member of the Schoolcraft American Legion; and the Portage Moose Lodge #88.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Norma Jean.

On December 6, 1952, he was united in marriage to Olive E. (Howe) LaCoss who survives.

Also surviving, four children, Debra (David) Dolph of Kalamazoo, Diane (Steven) Root of Portage, Dale (Susan) LaCoss of Plainwell, and Daniel (Lori) LaCoss of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Dorothy) LaCoss of Portage and Gerald (Doris) LaCoss of Almena; two sisters, Beverly (Gaylen) Stecker of Florida and Connie (Harry) Loy of Paw Paw; a sister-in-law, Harriet Smith of Kalamazoo; an uncle, Kenneth LaCoss of Lawton; an aunt, Dora Horton of Mesick, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be directed to Michigan American Diabetes Association or the American Red Cross. www.langelands.com.
