Miles was born and raised in Anderson. He lived in Anderson all of his life.

He had previously worked at Community Hospital as an Orderly and an EMT for EMAS. He rebuilt medical pumps as a Bio Tech.

He was a 1974 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and received his bachelor of science degree in Bio Technology.

Miles enjoyed model ships, fishing and bicycling.

He is survived by his mother: Bertha (Thrasher) Elsbury. Children: William Adam Elsbury and Deanna & husband Neal Gwin. Sisters: Jeanie & husband Paul Stephenson and Roberta & husband Greg Curson. Nieces & Nephews: Brent Stephenson, Erik Stephenson, Julia Watkins and Scott Curson. Several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded by his father: Robert G. Elsbury in 2002.

Miles Jay Elsbury, 51, of Anderson, died March 7, 2007, at Parkview Nursing Home in Muncie after an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 14, 1955, in Anderson, where he lived all of his life.

He had previously worked at Community Hospital as an orderly and an emergency medical technician for EMAS. He rebuilt medical pumps as a bio tech.

He was a 1974 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and received his bachelor of science degree in bio technology.

Miles enjoyed model ships, fishing and bicycling.

He is survived by his mother, Bertha (Thrasher) Elsbury; children, William Adam Elsbury and Deanna and husband Neal Gwin; sisters, Jeanie and husband Paul Stephenson and Roberta and husband Greg Curson; nieces and nephews, Brent Stephenson, Erik Stephenson, Julia Watkins and Scott Curson; several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Elsbury, in 2002.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd St. Burial will be in Pee Wee Cemetery, Ovid.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
