MARKLEVILLE — Eric Lee Clem, 44, of Markleville, passed away Aug. 8, 2009, at Saint John's Medical Center.

He was born July 2, 1965, in Anderson to Derek and Dixie (Cole) Clem.

Eric graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1983 and Anderson University School of Theology in 1992. He was a lifelong resident of Markleville, enjoyed reading, collecting watches, knives, swords and ink pens. He loved playing poker with his friends, surfing the Web on eBay, loved history and genealogy, but above all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Dixie Clem of Markleville; two brothers, Jason (companion, Jennifer) Clem of Anderson, and Colby T. (companion, Kelly) Clem of Markleville; an uncle, Thomas Cole of Markleville; two aunts, Kay (Gene) Lester of Anderson, and Diana (Don) Moore of Markleville; a niece, Ciera Clem; two nephews, Mason and Jaden Clem; paternal grandmother, Frances Clem of Markleville; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Derek Clem; paternal grandfather, Alvan B. Clem; and maternal grandparents, Paul and Lena Cole.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Trey Oldham officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
