She was born November 11, 1934 in Anderson to the late Thomas E. and Edna (Huffman) Haines.
She graduated from Pendleton High School. Ruth worked for Rowland Title Company as a typist and loved shopping.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Betty (Robert) Priest of Spencer; nieces, Sherry (David) Belbot and Teresa (Ray) Rigney; and nephews, Bobby (Jenny) Haines and Jeff Haines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. Eakes and brother, Robert E. Haines.
Burial will be at Grovelawn Cemetery
