CAYUGA | M. Scott Coapman, 69, of Turnpike Road, Cayuga, passed away after a brief illness on Dec. 25, 2015.

He was born in Auburn, the son of the late John and Marion Maker Coapman and had been an area life resident for most of his life. He was a Union Springs class of 1964 graduate, where he was also a championship wrestler. Scott spent most of his life as a dairy farmer on the family farm. He retired from NUCOR after several years of service, working in their melt shop. Scott refereed wrestling for more than 25 years in both college and high school events. He also enjoyed raising pigeons and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 47 years, Ann Landry Coapman, of Cayuga; son-in-law, Peter Richey; three children; several grandchildren; two brothers; a sister, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited for a calling hour from noon until 1 p.m. this Thursday with a service to immediately follow at 1 p.m., all at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021.
