Gladys L. Drown, 99, a lifelong resident of Cayuga, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Auburn Nursing Home. Born in Owasco, she was the daughter of the late John and Olive Scott Valentine. Gladys was a graduate of Auburn Academic High School and attended Kent Business School. She was a cafeteria cook for the Union Springs Central School for 20 years, retiring in 1973. She was a former member of the Cayuga United Methodist Church. She is survived by her three children, Dawn Rindfleisch and husband, William, of Cayuga, Laurence J.E.Drown and wife, Linda, of Kentucky and Laureene Mosley, of Cayuga; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurence M. Drown in 1982. There was a graveside memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday May 21, in Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga.
