served in the Third New Jersey Regiment. He settled near Springfield in 1820 and built the first brick house in Sangamo. Cemetery records indicate Moses was moved here from Pleasant Plains Cemetery in September 1862 with wife Jane (his second cousin), Betsey, Elizabeth and Thomas Broadwell. The records state his age at death as 63y 4m 26d.
