Grief deep and broad swept over Pea Ridge on the 11th of October when the telegram came announcing the death of Otto Miller at the Base Hospital, Camp Pike. He with 93 others from Benton County had on the 5th of September answered the call of our country to go there for military training. On the 4th of October he took influenza, followed by pneumonia and after seven days of suffering answered the summons of a Better World. A few hours before his death his father and mother, Mr. And Mrs. A.C. Miller arrived at Base Hospital to see him. Otto Miller was born at Pea Ridge December 22, 1896 and had spent his years with his father and mother at that place. His remains were buried at Buttram's Chapel.
